Why is it safe?
Applaws wet food contains among the highest named meat percentages of any widely distributed commercial wet food, typically 70–80% species-specific meat or fish as the primary ingredient, with fish broth or meat broth as the secondary. Ingredient lists are minimal: 3–5 ingredients in most varieties. No artificial colors, flavors, preservatives, or thickeners. The high meat content and low carbohydrate profile align well with the obligate carnivore nutritional requirements of cats.

This is the single most important thing to know about Applaws: the complete/complementary distinction is not obvious from marketing, and many owners feed complementary Applaws products as a sole diet without realizing this creates long-term nutritional gaps. The complete range includes dry food and select wet cans; most of the small pouches and tins with high meat content are complementary. Applaws dry food exists but is less impressive than the wet range, ingredient quality does not match the wet food standard.
