Why is it risky?
Many wild mushrooms species are severely toxic to the liver or nervous system. Species identification is unreliable without expert help, so any outdoor mushroom exposure should be treated as a potential emergency.

Symptoms
Vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, jaundice (liver failure signs may be delayed 6–24 hours), seizures with neurotoxic species.
What To Do
Emergency vet immediately. Bring a sample or photo of the mushroom for identification if at all possible.
Notes
This does not apply to store-bought culinary mushrooms, which are generally low risk in small amounts, only unidentified outdoor growth.
