Why is it risky?
Acetone is a nervous system depressant and irritant. A brief sniff is usually just irritating, but ingestion or heavy fume exposure in an unventilated room is genuinely dangerous.

Symptoms
Lethargy, wobbliness/incoordination, vomiting, drooling; disorientation with heavy fume exposure.
What To Do
Ventilate the area and wash any remover off fur or paws. Call a vet if ingested or if disorientation appears.
Notes
Cats can also be poisoned by grooming spilled acetone off their own fur, not just direct ingestion.
