Silica Gel Packets

🟢 LOW — Safe

Why is it safe?

Silica gel itself is chemically inert and non-toxic, the main risks are choking on the small packet or, rarely, mild GI blockage from the packet material rather than the silica beads themselves.

Affected Systems

Digestive

Symptoms

Mild vomiting if a packet is swallowed; choking risk with the packet itself, not the beads.

What To Do

Monitor after ingestion; contact a vet if vomiting persists or if the whole packet was swallowed and choking was suspected.
