Why is it risky?

Tulips contain allergenic lactones concentrated mainly in the bulb, which cause irritation to the mouth, esophagus and gastrointestinal tract if chewed or ingested. The bulb is far more toxic than the petals or leaves.

Symptoms

Drooling, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite. Severe cases: depression, increased heart rate.

What To Do

Remove access to the plant immediately. Contact a veterinarian, especially if the bulb was chewed or swallowed.
